 Eco in the First Round: Standoff 2 shares the same unique mechanics regarding eco and buy rounds from CS: GO and CS 1.6; this means that going for eco in the first round makes the most sense. Eco is not buying anything and relying on the basic pistol for the first round. As you do not have enough money to purchase anything other than a Desert Eagle or a worse pistol, you are much better off saving that money to get a better gun in the next round. However, if you are on the Terrorist side, we recommend going for a light Kevlar vest as it is easier for the Terrorists to get cheaper guns even if they do not save all their money for the next round. In maps like Dust, it is lethal for you not to check your corners. Therefore, we recommend developing a habit of always walking slow and keeping an eye on your corners. Standoff 2 is a game that rewards good aim. Most guns need about three to four hits on the body for you to get a kill if the enemy has bought Kevlar. If you aim for the head, however, it is a completely different story. Headshots deal the most amount of damage in the game. However, what’s surprising is the fact that most guns, even cheaper ones, are usually one-taps if you land the bullet on the head. So, prioritizing the head would mean that you only need one well-placed shot to kill an enemy instead of a few instantly.
